Micro Fiber Bags

The most common types of micro fibers are made from polyesters, polyamides, nylon or polyester and polyamide together. Micro fiber refers to any fiber with strands less than 1 denier. The micro fibers are used for apparel, upholstery, industrial filters and cleaning products like the micro fiber bags for sunglasses. These are knitted textiles with the shape, size and combinations of synthetic fibers selected including softness, durability, absorption, wicking abilities, water repellence, electrodynamics and filtering.

These ultra fine fibers date back to the 50’s using spinning and flash spinning techniques. Rubbermaid began a line of microfiber products for American markets. Micro fiber clothes are uses for consumer cleaning and are generally made from split conjugated fibers of polyester and polyamide. The smaller cloths are used to clean photographic lenses, wholesale sunglasses and eyeglasses. Most micro fibers are of a synthetic origin. Asbestos can be considered as natural mineral micro fibers. The fibers width is less than 1 micron.

The synthetic micro fibers were developed in Japan in the 70’s by Dr. Miyoshi Okamoto. Despite their great potential it took some years before they found various applications. When the micro fibers are split the composition of the cloth changes and it becomes a great water absorption cloth and great for dust collection like on sunglasses. Micro fiber cloths have a somewhat magical composition in that they don’t have to actually be in contact with dust. They pull the dust in and attract it. That is why they are such a great cleaning cloth for sunglasses and wholesale sunglasses alike.
